I called up Pro-Star and they told me about the screw under the keyboard. Good thing I didn't tug too hard!

Usually if you start using force on a notebook, you are doing something wrong.

    Hey,
have you guys tried to repast the cpu and gpu? Because I can't figure out how to loosen the springed screws (with the numbers engraved next to them).

Try to keep the questions to a single thread, as mentioned a Phillips screwdriver is needed.

In case anyone was wondering: I have tried out the Opolar LC06 vacuum cooler on this laptop. I clamped it onto the CPU side exhaust on the left side since that's the region that really needs help. The fit was excellent with the middle-sized shroud. Unfortunately, I could detect very little change in temperature both on auto and full speed modes during load. We're talking maybe 3 degrees Celsius at the very most. I tested it under out-of-the-box conditions; that is to say, no ThrottleStop or other clock speed tweaks or adjustments. It's a bit of a disappointment, but this was only the initial test. Maybe the affect will be greater once a few tweaks are applied.

There is a good amount of airflow, that's not really the limitation.

Does anyone know if the CPU speed is throttled to something very low like 1.8 Ghz when it's on battery power on this model?

That's normal behavior on battery. The base clock & power draw is reduced.
