Im looking into getting the 17w/mk pads from fujipoly, however I hear they are brittle and prone to crumbling, and to make matters worse I have a slighly uneven heatsink due to design, and made a little more uneven due to plastic wool sanding to get off conductonaut. Assuming money isnt an issue, would Kryonaut work just as well or better then using a thermal pad, or am I better off using a some other varient of fujipoly? The options are 11/14/17w/mk fujipoly and kryonaut, which btw is a "bad batch" from early 2018.

Ordinary thermal paste ain’t a viable solution. K5 Pro paste or better see if you can find Gelid/Arctic thermal pads. Much cheaper as well.

Yes, just use Arctic pads. They are cheap and soft and should last as long as any other soft pad. Still don't understand why are people so obsessed with Fujipoly pads - they have better numbers but there is no practical advantage of using them in laptops, no one has been able to show it.

    No, no and no.
Kryonaut would only work on surfaces with no gap space and high contact pressure. Any device with thermal pads can not be used with kryonaut replacing the pads.
Just buy these if you're worried about money. As Papusan said, the only substitute is K5 Pro.

If you actually need 2mm pads, (some Clevos or Alienwares, maybe) since Arctic doesn't make those you can choose between these for $8.00

Or pay $44.95 for Thermal Grizzly. https://www.amazon.com/Thermal-Grizzly-Minus-High-Performance/dp/B00ZJS5M60
I'm sorry but I don't care how much better thermal grizzly pads may be, i'd take my chances with the $8 pads.

You won't see the big differences...
Test of “chewing gums”: 3× Arctic and Thermal Grizzly Minus Pads

Want something expencive as the Grizzly pads... Then go for Gelid.

Any Soft pads is preffered over stiff pads with high W/mk numbers.

I only need 1mm pads. The reason for my big deal in in pads is because its what appears to be the biggest source of felt heat and heat in general at the moment, even more then the GPU die interestingly. I will look into the grizzly pads, and I am curious how they compare to gelids which have the same 8wkw rating.

Gelid have 12w/mk rating. And they are softer. See my post above regarding pads...
