Hi all. It is with great regret, that after six years of faithful service, my Sager NP8150 finally seems to have bit the dust. I always planned on a six year service life and the monitor/graphics card seems to have finally given up the ghost on me.

My question today is not what laptop should I buy, but rather, what laptop today from Sager, is the equivalent of what the NP8150 was then? The 8156? The 7850? I'm not quite sure.

It would be the NP8157 (Clevo P65xHS-G). It has almost the same port placements as the NP8150. The only large deviation is the graphics card is fused directly to the motherboard instead of fit into an MXM slot (Edit: also no optical drive).

That's a great laptop but i think may ultimately fall out of my budget. It kinda seems like the market has moved on a little from the p150 style model. Budget friendly (i paid less than $2k for that laptop) yet modular.

That's interesting. I've never heard of them before. It just looks like a rebranded clevo so I'm assuming it's just like everybody else. But I'm surprised by their prices and options.

not like everyone else, that is the point ....yes of course it is a Clevo budget laptop with excellent specs and most likely not available thru other re-sellers as the same exact config budget package modular laptop along with that same unique 4gb GTX 1050 Ti. simply just do some minimal research yourself > google company Eluktronics (U.S. re-seller) and Clevo model W650KK1) then you will find out more about both. best of luck.

p.s. read the 2 relevant product reviews on the link : http://www.eluktronics.com/w650kk1

this clevo model does not have a back-lit keyboard it would seem.
