I replaced my X220 with a used Thinkpad Yoga Y260 from ebay for about $500. The Y260 is still in very condition.

there is no concern over tdp - the thermal design is sound for the dell 6440
if you're talking about it being more energygy consuming

    well that's y it's still outperforms a kabylake i5

    i don't disagree - the yoga 260 is a well designed thinkpad.

Honestly y are you thinking of upgrading

perf wise u have very little to gain but if its for getting a better shinier toy to play with then yes - just buy one of those cheap ideapads with a nice display and touch screen and super slim - its still gonnabe good enough for everyday use and will be below 500 as well

i'm typing on one as we speak - the i5 version.

The screen is great (although specs suggest its not the best) to me i've got it calibrated well enough.

It's a fantastic laptop for the price

for 300 euros i dont need to list the positives but here's just a few important things to take note of

    - only room for 1 SSD in m2 SLOT
    - BUT m2 slot is dual functional and supports full 4 lane nvme SSD (personally tested)
    - take note that the i3 doesn;t have turbo boost so you will really see a perf diff in the negative manner as it maxes at 2.4ghz vs the turbo boost of a i5 sandy bridge of 3.2ghz - 33% reduction is something you will probably feel - but at least you have a way better gpu so maybe less of an impact?
-there's zero issues - jjust let me know which IPS mon u end up with (it either the BOE or the LG which i have) the LG is supposed to have some flicker issues which they patched via bios but i never had that issue of the flicker so I was kinda upset that the patch (which supposedly reduces the brightness was introduced along with a critical security update) Anyway i recalibrated and i'mhappy to send you the ICC file if you end up needing it.

I'm not sure buddy - the i3 is a dealbreaker for me but i can say if it was the i5 jump on it - its a simple and underrated model. and more importantly just the right size if you like the x220

yeah funny how things are - this model was such a hit there's only the i3 versions left. Given recent 2018 lenovo models have all been plagued by some wierd thermal issues , the 13 g2 wasunscathe.

Lenovo seriously has some issues with forward planning on models though as they've just decided to nolonger have a 3rd gen version of this. However the L380 is supposed to bear the closest resemblance hardware/design wise. but not that cheap though
