Well, I received the XPS 15 9500 and returned it the next day due to several issues:
    Trackpad wobble
USB C dongle adaptor was missing
I failed to notice that the ordered unit was white and upon receipt, I decided I didn't like it.
In addition, the wifi had issues connecting with my router.

I considered a replacement XPS15 9500 rather than a return but the Dell rep indicated 30 return window would start with the invoice date of my original purchase rather than restart on the date the replacement was shipped.

So, now I'm wondering if I should consider that older version XPS15 7590 since it doesn't have the trackpad issues and the wifi card is not soldered. The biggest downside I see is it only has one SSD slot. Are there other considerations I'm overlooking that are relevant to my usage?

XPS is Dell's nicer brand - Those are some weird problems to have out of the box.

I would give them another chance, to be honest. I've never had a problem with a Dell like that, that new.

I recommend you check out Alienware or Sager (in that order). Maybe even Dell XPS, if you're not burned out with Dell yet.
