I have an M15x (r2 I believe?) that I bought in 2010. It has an i7 and gtx 260m in it. I was thinking of adding an SSD into it with my HDD, but wanted to know if it's possible to take out the disc drive to do that? What all would I need for it?

If that's not possible, would the normal HDD slot work for an SSD?

Yes, You just need a 2.5" Hard drive/ODD caddy, they are on ebay. It will be limited to SATA 2 however.

Yes you can do this but be prepared to tear down almost the 80% of your laptop. I recently fit on mine an extra hdd with its caddy, replacing my dead dvd/rw. It was a fun and educational process:rolleyes:

I just installed an M.2 1tb SSD as my main drive and put my 500gb 850 evo in the caddy, however unlike the hard drive the BIOS isn't even recognising it?
