I wonder if a Graphite Thermal Pad would be a good solution in this case. Been following that thread for some time but results seem to vary.

Have yet to see one mate. But when it comes to CPU performance that's how big the difference is. 35W vs more than 45W, man up for a few seconds and man up forever. I'm sure the difference is day and night. :D

i dont believe its the hinge being tight its the bottom panel rubbing against thin back edge of the bottom below the panel lies, try putting a thin soft washer on the back two holes below the back panel where you screw the crews in on the right and left side so they are even. worked for me just try to find very thin soft washers

This is benchmarks from my 35 Watt Blade 15, do you have any source that 45 Watt similar laptop with same performance? And I noticed also gaming benchmarks is similar on balanced mode or even above in some games compared to notebookcheck games FPS average on 1070 maxq laptops, with gaming mode the difference is more noticeable.

I believe the mobo can handle 45 Watt but for some reason, maybe thermal it is set to 35 Watt after several seconds on 45 watt, and it’s not due thermal throttling. Since for some games it already hits low 90ish, I think I don’t need 45 Watt. But maybe on eGPU setting I do need that since on that setting I’ve room for cooling and my cpu never hits 80ish.

I read one case on reddit and seen one reviewer who showed the hinge coming apart on the 65.

As an old GS73 user in which this happened to as well, that was enough to shift me away from MSI. I get that hinge issues can be a problem for any laptop but MSI seems to have a lot of them, and when something like that's happened to you personally it kinda makes you weary. Just like how a lot of people are weary to grab the Razer over past CS or QC issues etc.
