So I bought an extra wifi antenna and the intel 6300 ultimate wifi card. Installed it tonight and installed the most up to date drivers from intel for windows 7 x64.

I am able to connect to all 5ghz networks without a problem. however, when attempting to connect to my 2.4ghz network, i get the error "windows was unable to connect to the network."

I am successfully prompted for my wifi password, the error comes after submitting it.

There doesn't seem to be a difference between G and N technologies. I can't connect to ANY 2.4ghz networks. That being said - im pretty sure 5ghz is N (and maybe AC) only.

Is there any reason why this card would be incompatible? I've also tried the Intel 6250 (which only has two wifi antenna) and the same problem occurs.

Why do I not like the killer wifi card? Mainly because I do want 3x3 MIMO and also because streaming mp4's from my server have been buffering with this card way too often. I never had video streaming issues with intel cards.

hummm... aside drivers problem, I don't think that they actually whitelisted anything on the blade, more of an accidental mishap.

Are you suggesting the blade 14's bios is to blame?

I'm saying that a lot of things are impossible including a white list or accidental mishap

or it could be your 6300, try it in another laptop to see if it is the card.

tried the 6300 in my alienware m14x, no problems.

keep in mind ive tried two 6250's and one 6300 in the razer blade 14. im pretty certain there's a bios limitation at this point, i just really want to hear from someone else who has a blade 14 and has tried out an intel 6300 or 6250 in the laptop...

I have the Blade 14" and a 6300 laying around. When I get my second mSata SSD I plan to try it out as well. I will let you know.

I ended up not messing with the WiFi card, but I have a different one on the way I really hope works! Although it is AC and at home I will be using AC (5ghz), I really hope I can get it to work on 2.4ghz. For when I am on the go with the Blade.

Being on the go with the blade is the reason this is a deal-breaker for me. I've switched back to the Killer card for now, but I read a reply in one of your posts about using the killer cleaner after performing a hard drive format and fresh install of windows... so i'm going to try that with the intel 6300 to see if it works.

Good idea. I am going to try everything to get it to work. Having 867mbps wifi would be sweet. No more lag spikes or high ping. I have a Dreamspark account through my college and I can get pretty much any development software for free, as well as Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 8 Pro OS. I will do a clean install if need be.
