I'm cleaning my new ASUS and...there are a few programs in my uninstall list that are in another language and broken up into multiple programs...

Are they bad? Should I uninstall them and get ones that are in English? Does it matter?

    Examples:
3 entries of 'Control ActiveX de Windows Live Mesh para conexiones remotas' in the same language, but with different words saying the same thing.

2 entries of '用于远程连接的 Windows Live Mesh ActiveX 控件(简体中文)'

Not random. Just the language of the install package you picked up somewhere :)

New laptop, I didn't install any of that. Anyway, other people have said as long as I have language packs it shouldn't matter. I still don't know why I need 2 and 3 copies of the same thing, or why that language was installed, but that's the least of my problems now.

This depends on your region and your language settings. Not sure about the Spanish, unless you selected that as your main language.

Sometimes ASUS machines come with simplified Chinese, so that's my best guess for that.

All three of my newly-purchased ASUS G53SW-XN1 also come with 3 entries of the Spanish version and 2 entries of the Chinese version. And yes, this is right out of the box and I am certain I chose English as my language.

I'm thinking about uninstalling them, but if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Vic
