    1) What is your budget?

    max 1000 dollars

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    a. Ultraportable; 12" screen or less
    b. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

any of these, i'm assuming 17" will be too expensive

    3) Please select your country's flag as a post icon and tell us what country are you buying this in.

    USA

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

don't like hp/gateway, UNLESS you know the specific laptop is a reliable machine

    5) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?

Mostly listening to music, watching tv shows, I need it to move to a quiet room in the house and use my pc for my source audio.

    6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?

taking it with, but battery really isn't an issue

    7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?

    no

    8) How many hours of battery life do you need?

    doesn't matter, average~

    9) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?

    love buying online

    10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

    doesn't matter, but no mac's they cost too much ^^;;;

    Screen Specifics

    11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?

    1440x900

    1680x1050

1920x1200(do small laptops even go this high?), this would be preferred if possible

    12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

    doesn't matter

    Build Quality and Design

    13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

    no

    14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?

very soon, end of next month maybe, flexible by another month if i need to wait, it doesn't need much power, it can last a few years, but all I'm going to use it for is music/tv shows/movies

    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 500GB?

    at least 120

    16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

    dvd-rw

    thanks in advance :D

The Thinkpad T400 is an option to consider.
