I have a p870km1-g with sli 1080 and in some games i get the rainbow colored lines appearing down the screen. However when i run a benchmark that are FAR more power intensive then the games that cause the lines i get no artifacts or anything. I want to say its a driver issue but i'm also confused since the gpu's don't usually react this way unless they are on the way out. Could a ssd that is wearing out cause this issue?

You are talking abour color zigzag lines, with ragged edges, each one in different color, especially visible on the sky where color gradients are?
It`s a combination of specific drivers and (most important) GSync. Some drivers are more prone to this bug than others but it always is caused by Gsync. Turn if off and those rainbows will be gone.
Nvidia is aware of this problem for many months now and it still isn`t fixed.
