Nvidia Inspector will let you overclock a small amount with no modding. (In case you didn't know).

What brand card did you buy? I have the Dell card.

Not sure really. It was taken out of an HP laptop. Which code on the card tells me who built it (except for 'Made in China' ;) )?

Here, that´s 431.36 driver modded inf for your Quadro M4000M. Don´t forget to first disable driver signature check before installing it.

I just realized that you asked about the modded driver, not an unlocked bios.

I modded the driver myself. The bios is what I was talking about earlier.

The driver is easy to mod so if you have trouble with the one you were provided, I can help.

Later, when you want to overclock, if Nvidia Inspector does not provide you will need to modify your vbios. Unfortunately however I do not believe the Dell vbios is compatible with HP cards.

Thank you very much :) I have already geared up to mod it myself, found the manual for GTX 970M, but I really wouldn't like to mess it up, This would be my first operation like that since mid/late 2000s...

I am currently in a bit of a pickle. As soon as I plugged in the card and started the M15x up I get black screen and one long-two short beeps... Any ideas?

Finally got another Quadro 4000M running in my M15x (thanks guys for how to mod the stuff!). The leap in perfomance is very palpable. Now for experimentation with M17x ;)

Not really. In the meantime I have acquired an M4000M with chipped core from Dell distribution, it worked, but after stressing it would give up. So I took the Dell one and the HP one to a service point to swap the BGA, but the guy recommended vBIOS flash from one to the other. Guess what - it works like a charm! So it seems that an original Dell vBIOS works with HP M4000M. Just to be recorded to anyone that might want to get a cheap HP card but worries about compatibility issue - worry no more ;)

I will later post the vBIOS from my card for future reference :)
