I have this leather style skin for my acer. I keeps to fingerprints off, and protects it from scratches.

    Looks pretty nice too :)

Some laptops look cool with stickers, some don't. I usually put stickers when the laptop gets old. It really helps when you're bored with the look of your laptop.
This is my really old clevo, i really love how it looks :)

It's not worth much and will be retired from main duties by a Series 9 which I will try my best to resit stickering up for a few years :)

My Toshiba x305 with the flaming red abortion just couldn't stay. I used black shelf paper to cover the lid, then that progressed to product stickers etc.

the new M6600 I just did a carbon fiber wrap on the lid just to protect the aluminum of the cover.

If you are looking to resell a used laptop, stickers should come off and then use some adhesive remover careful to remove any residue.

It's all a boxers or briefs kinda question..... then again there is always the dude that has the bannana hammock :)

Generally, it'd decrease the value of the laptop, because there will likely be potential buyers who won't like your stickers. For example, when I was buying a car, there was one used car on the lot that had an Apple logo imprint apparently forever stuck on the rear bumper from an old sticker. I might have test driven it, but I'm a PC person, so that car was out of consideration for buying. For another example, you're going to have a tough time getting a White Sox fan to buy a Detroit Tigers laptop. On the other hand, if Mitchrapp were to sell his laptop, there's a chance he'd actually be able to sell it for more since other Tigers fans might be willing to spend more than they ordinarily would for the unique design.

I'd also suspect that random stickers are a worse idea for retail value than some of the themed ones we've seen. Someone might pay more for the Tigers laptop. But unless you've got a really artistic touch with your stickers, that's unlikely to happen with random stickers. You might be able to get them all off well, but you might not... so I'd recommend not doing so if you plan to sell and care about the value.

It's a weird idea! It does hurt when you resale your laptop. If you really want to cover your lid with stickers, you must laminate first and then go for it.

I see laptops spattered with stickers every day while I'm campus. Some people are smart and put them over macbook skins and the like, but other people just slap them all over their PCs. In my opinion, it all looks terrible. Stickers can work, but they have to be done tastefully (see post above me).

Basically, if you ever plan to resell your laptop, I wouldn't make the changes permanent.
