Thanks. I believe the RZS 13 1650 is thicker than the MSI (along with dual fans) so both of those may help. I was trying to find something to carry along with my RZB15 but now that I just upgraded my ram in the A51m to 128GB I'm carrying that and my RZB15 in my rollerbag right now.

We will see what March brings!

    If I may offer some of my thoughts - I have GS65 w/2060, Blade 15 w/2060, the new Stealth w/1650 and Carbon X1 6th.
    1. I'm not sure if you had any MSI before, but since you have Razer, Alienware and Lenovo - the build quality may throw you off far more than any ghosting. Flexible chassis may not even be the worst offender, but using three screws to mount heatplates over CPU/GPU is. This causes uneven pressure, large variation in core temps = throttles much sooner than it should.
    2. If you travel with two laptops, why both have to be of gaming type? My combo was RB15 + X1, Razer for gaming, Lenovo for ... ehm ... typing.
    3. Ghosting on low power GPU is a blessing in disguise for me. You own some OLEDs - they have instantaneous response - now with low fps you see judder, stutter, the complete lack of blur which for me kills immersion in any 3d game since I can see razor sharp individual frames being rendered and replaced at new position. But that's for modern games, full screen 3d movement etc. I also like playing some old games in emulators, and in this case ghosting kills any arcade game if you used to how they look on a CRT.

I personally switched almost entirely to the Blade Stealth, I absolutely love that machine. Moved my desktop to other duties, have it docked at home with eGPU (minimal performance loss due to integrated TB in Ice Lake) and while travelling have it in a tiny bag that barely weights anything. I only take also the Blade 15 with me if I travel by car. I will not buy another laptop until Intel releases 6 core or more CPUs in 7nm with integrated TB, which looks like will not happen until 2021 at least.

Hey thanks for the perspective. A few thoughts of my own.
    1. I plan on steering full clear of MSI laptops period. I've owned a few and not really willing to go back anytime soon.

    2. I like to have backup devices of everything I carry. So if my a51m (or RZB15 depending what I'm carrying) die I'd like to have a backup option. That's why I'm possibly thinking about waiting on the G14. My work is going to refresh my hardware soon (and we get to keep what we get after the next refresh). One of the options is a Lenovo T490s which I may go with.

    3. So I've looked at some videos of this laptop and some ghosting doesn't seem too bad. Low FPS judder bothers me much less than ghosting. Maybe the panels are different, but the ghosting I got on the unit I returned almost looked like an passive matrix LCD. A little bit of trail would be fine but this was almost like horrid VA black smear only it was every color. Maybe I should have rolled the dice again?

Weight isn't a huge concern as I'm using my Everki roller bag for when I'm on the road or plane. I initially thought of getting the weight down by just carrying one laptop and the 13" could have been that one. Maybe I should just stick with the 15"?

I have this 100w Razer usb-c power brick still on this table from a spare I ordered. It's tempting me to get the stealth another try.

I don't think you had defective panel, it is slow by every metric, but too me it's not that absolutely awful, kind of average among general use laptops - it should be comparable in response time to what you have in P50. I think you're used to fast panels in AW and RZB and sluggish one in RBS stands out. Do you have BestBuy nearby? - they have them on display, have a look and see if it makes any difference.

I backed a 100W charger at kickstarter, they continue campaign on indiegogo now: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hyperjuice-world-s-first-100w-gan-usb-c-charger/x/1825838#/

Looks pretty sweet, I should have it next month.

Well I can say this, while my P50 does have slight blur, it is by far much less than the Razer Blade Stealth. If I do end up trying to get one again I may go to a Best Buy and check it out. I imagine if all panels are like this then I'll probably just have to wait. The fact that the sale is over isn't helpful either.

Unfortunately the Blade Stealth does not offer a good screen for the stealth. Maybe if they offer OLED panels in the future it would fix the problem. The main idea behind the Stealth is to have a good on the go laptop for business and hook it up to an external gpu and monitor for gaming at home.

If you need something that can game also you’re kinda stuck going for a 15” model as they have better screens.
