    Hey All,

Just wondering, for those of you with an M11X, how is the emulation with PCSX2 and Dolphin on the M11X? The newest PCSX2 is a lot more GPU reliant then previous version. In addition the Dolphin Emu seems to require GPU more then CPU anyway.

So just wondering what you guys have seen on it. I am also assuming that you are overclocking your processor when using it.

    Have you tried games like:

    MGS2 or 3
    GoW1 or 2
    Akami
    Zelda
    Etc...

The emulators are all CPU intensive, not so much on the GPU, the weak CPU of m11x means no. Even on my i7 820, I couldn't run in 60FPS all the time, and sometimes the frame rate will drop below 60.

There's absolutely no way it'll run any MGS games. It wouldn't run at any sort of decent speed even on my quad core overclocked to 2.5GHz.

SOME games may play FAIRLY well on it. I play Final Fantasy 12 for example without a problem, near enough full speed, at 2GHz. Considering PCSX2 only really uses two cores that means it's one of the few games you might be able to play without a problem.

Zelda will have a very hard time running because Dolphin doesn't seem to feature the same speedhacks feature as PCSX2, which drastically speeds up some games. Many would be unplayable without speedhacks. Even on my system, Wind Waker ran at about half speed when I tried it.

I thought full speed was 30 FPS. BTW, I have a i7 2.6Ghz with a 5870 and I have no problem running MGS2 and 3 on the newest PCSX2. That is why I was curious.

Try the newest PCSX2 if you are interested. I know 1 version ago I would have horrible issues with MGS3. Not any longer. If I was home, I would have given you the version number and the pluggins I use.

Yeah please list the plugins and what not that you use.

Random info, MGS2 runs at 60FPS and MGS3 is 30 (on the playstation 2 itself I mean).

PS2 Emulation; No. M11x CPU is way too weak.

Wii/GC Its possible...Most other Emulators will work like Gameboy/Advance/N64/etc

...You do realise both the GCN and Wii (especially) are much more powerful than the PS2?

I don't know nothing about émulaiton PS2. But Dolphin (for WII) works fine on the M11X. Have tried it with the new Super Mario Bros, very fluid and much fun.

    Ride the Solar Winds,

It doesn't matter what the strength of the system is. It is all dependant on the quality of the programmers working on the emulators.

Dolphin is considered by many as the greatest emulator ever created. It is able to do a lot with very little.

Hero of the Day and Corsair,

I will post versions and pluggins later on tonight.

    Virtuehero,

How do other games do. If you have Zelda, would you mind trying it and letting me know what your results are. Also, let me know how the Mario and Metroid games do as well.

If they do well, I am definately getting an M11X.

    Ikuto,

Have you tried PCSX2? Just curious.

Curious if FFX, Shin Megami games, and others such as ZoE perform? If anyone has the games to test, that is...

OK, so I just checked what I use to play MGS3.

    - PCSX 2 beta.r1888
    - GSdx 1873 (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.15 Graphic Pluggin
    - SPU2-X 1.2.0 Sound Plugin

    Speed Hacks,
    Use x2 Cycle
    INTC Sync Hack
    Enable IOP x2 Cycle Rate
    Status Flag Hack

With this I get 60fps in MGS3. Haven't tried much else really on PCSX2.

    My Home PC Specs are:

    Windows XP
    I7 920 at 2.67
    Radeon 4870 1GB

Hopes this helps some of you out there that couldn't get it running on your PC.

As for the M11X, the only thing I see missing is the CPU speed to get this running.

Yeah, KH/KH2 Run as smooth as silk on my M17x Very very few slow downs. But they are very old/poor 3D games so it was going to be like that.

There's not much point in saying that my 820qm +5870MR runs every PS2 games smoothly, for something closer to the m11x for a gauge, my old notebook with T5500 and 1600MR lags a lot in PCSX2, only 2D games like Disgaea 1/2 could be played smoothly, 3D games like FFX, tales of abyss etc lags to the extend of unplayable (unless you are an extremely patient person).

my gx720 with a core 2 quad q9100 plays many ps2 games fairly well, but there will ALWAYS ALWAYS be areas of slowdown. I usually get around 60 fps in FFX, but, in some areas, it will drop down to 40. Same with KHII. On dolphin, super smash bros brawl works full speed at 1024x768 with 2x anti aliasing. Metroid prime lags terribly, so forget RPG games on systems as of right now.

I just tried wind waker - seems to run fine, but the audio doesn't work. It blips like crazy in the intro screen, and during the intro sequence you don't even hear anything at all. I've been looking for a solution but haven't found any so far... which is aggravating cuz I've seen videos of people running it with perfect sound, but I can't figure out how they did it

I tried emulating Metal Gear Solid 2 just for curiosity's sake on my R1. Slow as frozen molasses stuck to Forrest Gump's shoe on a brake pedal in a Minnesota winter!!! *Was that metaphorical enough for you?* lol
