When I try to change my mail adress to a *@protonmail.com account, I get the message that the "mailaddress has been banned by the administrator".

Why is this? protonmail is one of the safest/best new e-mail services out there.

It's banned because the majority of users who registered with that email extension were spammers.
    Use another email domain.

@Charles P. Jefferies with all due respect, ProtonMail is one of the leading security and privacy-focused e-mail providers according to numerous sources. I perfectly understand the annoyance with spammers, but maybe kindly consider lifting the ban later, when spammers switch to other e-mail provider to overcome the ban.
