    Hello,

I recently formatted my computer. I Want to install SP2. It starts installing ( I told it to via the little reminder that pops up). Maybe around 2 min later, right at the beginning of the installation, my computer restarts! Anyone know of the problem? How do I get this installed? I've tried safe mode but the internet doesn't work in safe mode...

Maybe just let it see what it does on its own. I had no clue when installing mine what was going on because it took all night. On that night the space shuttle was coming in and it was postponed so i woke up every couple hours to check on it. But maybe just see what it does on its own. :) :) :)

What do you mean see what it does on its own? It restarts! Once it starts installing, it installs for a minute or two MAX and then just restarts!

    What do I do? Thanks

    Will it continue installing? Otherwise?

Ok, try this, this should work,
    right click my computer
    properties,
    advanced tab,
    settings button (startup and recovery)
    uncheck automatic restart
now you will get an error message after it does that again

    :)

I think queshy means that his computer restarts by itself, just like that without warning.

I'm still thinking its a software problem, did you reinstall WinXP?

    Yes, I did.

I tried doing that uncheck automatic restart thingy, I got a blue screen ,forgot what it said...something about "begin physical memory dump"...didnt catch the whole thing, should I try doing it again and write down an erro message? BTW, thanks for all your help.

And yes Corolis, there is no warning.
