Hi so looking for a price check for a Faulty GT72-6QD laptop.

    It had the following replaced.

    • Whole Chassis (Basically Top, Middle and Bottom plastics)
    • New 120hz screen with 40pin EDP cable
    • New Battery (Currently with 0.6% Wear)
    • New PSU's (Bought 2 one 330w and one 230w)
Basically i will be including the system in its stock configuration minus the Drives and RAM, but i will also be including the MSI GTX 1060 MXM GPU with its heatsink as well (Still works even underload).

I can even include the receipts for all replacement parts (All which came from MSI including the battery) only things that didn't was the GTX 1060, the PSU, the keyboard and the 120hz screen and edp cable.

The fault is related to something with the mainboard as there is a burnt smell near the PSU Jack.

The system still powers on so using iGPU (GTX 970m seems to have been killed by the fault as it now has the 230w PSU blinking the LED code for Short).

I just hate to see the newer parts go to waste because mainboard decided to middle finger me.

I am not after splitting the system up i am after selling it as a whole as to get rid of MSI from my life.

I will be planning to sell on here exclusively (Not on ebay).

All funds from this sale will then go towards my new system.

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Edit: Some photos to show its condition right now, might help with what you think the system might be worth.

I apologize in advance that this is not the answer you are probably waiting for, but I have a spare GT72VR 6RE motherboard that I plan on selling (6700hq and came with a 1070, though I plan on taking that out.) If you would like this motherboard so that you can sell this laptop in a fully working state, let me know as I'm willing to sell the motherboard for a cheaper price than those on ebay as I would like it gone ASAP. If you don't want it, that's totally fine too.

Though, in it's current state, I think you could maybe get 450 USD out of it, but 400 seems more reasonable as GT72VR's with 6700hq's and 1060's have gone for 500-550 USD on E-bay. This is just a suggestion, and I would wait to see what others have to say.

Than you firstly for your reply and your offer of selling me your main board and as great as it would be to sell it in working condition, I'd personally would rather sell it as is so I can rid myself of MSI.

Just thought I'd get a price check on here then sell it as I know that getting any of the parts for this laptop is hard, with the parts being newish and in MSI's words "You got the last of the stock for the chassis" I'd rather give a user on here the chance to replace their broken parts.

After all it would be a simple main board swap and away you go affair.

Thank you for your estimate I know I wouldn't get most of my money back, but a least some to go towards the new system.
