GTX 680M, GTX 980M, GTX 1080. Like clockwork, each time prerelease people said "25% gains max", and then were blown away. They never learn.

We'll be seeing 40% rasterization gains easily, maybe more on the mobile side as the GPUs don't need their TDPs strangled as heavily as with Turing.

Yeah thats one way, you can also get a laptop now, then sell it once you've upgraded to a 30 series laptop.

Yeah thats why I expect at least a 40% bump in perf/watt. The actual increase could be higher if nvidia bumps up the tdp or balances the power consumption better like they did with the mobile Turing refresh that uses more efficient low voltage gddr6.

Can you not pry it off by starting with pressure around the rear, slowly popping clips free? That's how my four MSI laptops have been designed.

May need something flat you can slide in to get it going.

Anyone know how thick the thermal pads are on this unit? I have my new one and am about ready to open it up to possibly repaste and add another drive but want to repad it too when i have the heat sinks off and want to order the right sizes and have it ready to go before I do this...I am going to use Gelid Extreme for my paste too as its a little thicker paste and should be better suited for this heat sink design
