I plan on buying G9-973 with i7-7700HQ cpu and GTX 1070 but am a bit worried because reviews and forum comments say that the machine is loud and the cpu temperatures under heavy load are really high (bordering on 100*C).

Is that true? If it is, does it get in the way that much that it's uncomfortable?

I get that it's a powerfull machine crammed into small (relatively) chassis, and it gets loud and hot but is it hotter and louder than comparable machines (like MSI Dominator Pro and Asus G752) from other manufacturers?

Side note: If the kaby lake high temps thing is true, should I opt for i7-6700HQ instead?

OEM Thermal Paste , especially Acer's Thermal Paste is very bad . Repaste it then everything will be fine
Use Thermal Grizzy Conductonaut (Liquid Metal) to achieve the best results :)
    How to use Liquid Metal
My gaming laptop has crappy cooling design too (only 1 fan) but i fixed it with Liquid Metal

Running hot and loud? Yes. Mine is i7-6700HQ and it certainly gets hot and loud during gaming. But so far, it has not caused me much issue. Then again, I have not played games for a while due to life. IME, Asus ROG has the best cooling system. My prior few ROG rigs have been bullet-poof. I will definitely return to the ROG camp the next time I need to upgrade.

Asus ROG doesn't have the best cooling anymore. Their 502/702 thermal system designs are laughable at best.

Yep, you are right. My old G751J and the ones before it are rock solid silent beasts. All they had to do is to use the same cooling system, since the 10XX series uses even less power and produces less heat than prior 8xx and 9xx series. Don't know how they f'd that up so bad.
