Lol, I can report an average of 47 Watt with:

Precision 7730 with i7-8850H + P3200 (Integrated GPU disabled) and 2 NVME (delivered Samsung 961 + new 970 Evo Plus).
I use the TBC18 Dock with 2 Dell P2213 on Display Port / Mini Display Port, Network Connection and a Logitech Unified Stick.

When I remove the TBC18 Connector the Power consumtion falls down to around 20W....

PCI Express Link power Link is already set to maximum saving...

Could you consider enabling the integrated GPU, and checking again?

    Several possibilities:
    - 4 sticks of ECC RAM could be drawing a few watts apiece
    - I have a bunch of gumsticks in RAID - this could conceivably prevent the whole array from ever going into idle, so they're always running at 5W apiece.
    - Also, 17" 4K display is probably an energy sucker by itself.

I suppose there are better ways to arrange things on this system for better energy conservation, but as long as I have a plug handy, it's OK.

Reenabled Graphic switching and the new numbers are:
    Docked : ~32w
    Undocked : 10-15w

so the P3200 takes 10-15w... wow...

Btw. when I remove both displays, the power usage falls by around 15w, so the additional displays seems to be the biggest sucker...
Maybe, if I find some time, I will check whether this only happens through the dock or if it also happens when I connect displays directly to the computer...

Thanks @alittleteapot and @Martin Ro for your contributions.

And there's a new BIOS version out (v1.9.0), once again primarily addressing security vulnerabilities.

    Likewise. No problems.

What difficulties do you encounter? Is the install failing, or something else?
