On one of our 7710 we had a very slight whine sound. It wasn't present on our other 7710. It wasn't loud, but it drove me nuts. I was certain that it was coil whine. They replaced the motherboard, but the whine remained. I thought it had to do with power delivery or somthing like that. It only happened after the system had been running for at leat 5 minutes, prior to 5 minutes it would not make the whine noise. The technician said it was likely a fan. We ordered replacment heatsink assembly and the noise has not returned and that was about a year ago.

I can already install the driver without the INF mod; what else should I do?

Looks like they pulled it. That link was working yesterday, I downloaded and installed it without issue.

Can someone who has the 7730 with an i7 comment on how loud or quiet their laptop is under normal web browsing with maybe 7-8 tabs open... and maybe one other program open in the background?

I have a Clevo here and the fans are annoying... while my Dell 5570 Latitude is dead quiet all the time... often wondered if it even had fans.

Do you use the Samsung NVMe driver?

I had occasional BSODs with that driver on resume from hibernate. Fixed by using the Microsoft NVMe again.

    7730 with an i9 here.
It gets loud when it engages the quadro or pushes the CPU, but for regular browsing or document writing I consider it practically inaudible. Especially in the open office landscape I'm usually working in.
Once you start pushing the hardware though, it gets quite loud. The sound isn't particularly annoying though.

Quiet, as long as I leave the Windows Power Plan "Balanced" enabled. With "High performance" the fans kick in after a few minutes.
