I would not replace the paste, you have some of the best on there.
It appears in your situation, yoiu prolly have lackluster pressure on the heatsink, and maybe gaps? Use a thicker paste, like Gelid Extreme or ICD7.
i got an open box with nothing but the laptop and brick inside, lame
ill have to source these bits then
yeah i have no complaints with kryonaut ill leave it be
Contact MicroCenter tech support they should be able to provide them, have some kicking around I would think. Also it should still be under warranty since the warranty transfers
They do ship with the parts typically since they are designed for user installs but with the big box stores you never know.
The MicroCenter units do come with the extra thermal pad and screw for the 2nd M.2. I know. I added a nice 960 EVO 500GB.
Then you should be able to take it up with them in the store if they were missing.
Hello all, so I'm new here and have read this entire thread, and I have just now discovered these laptops as something i would seriously consider on purchasing. That being said, does anyone know of any upcoming future 'revisions' to these models? is it worth to hold off on either of these and wait for an updated model? any info is appreciated.
We probably won't see a refresh until Cannon Lake, though release dates on it are still nebulous. Now is a pretty good time to pull the trigger since nothing new is confirmed for the immediate future.
I bought the 1510 earlier this year and have had no regrets. It is great not only for gaming but video and picture editing.
As for revisions of the machines I would imagine as soon as the boards currently used run out and new ones produced by Clevo, as you probably know these machines and others like it are just rebranded Clevo's.
Really though I guess major revisions would happen when new graphics chips come out as well as cpu's
The nVidia Volta architecture or Volta like chip for mainstream I have heard (read) may be coming out soon.
This article just came out on the Volta
