Turned out getting two Marriott suites for free for a night. Front desk lady got *****y with us, and of course no manager nor any way of doing anything, claiming systems prevent her from doing so, etc. Unusual behavior from a Marriott employee. She had no idea we're gold elite club members, so one quick call and they waived all the charges for the night.

Dell P2419HC Monitor. I'm going to use it as a second screen in conjunction with my laptop screen. It's 24", which is good for my small-ish desk, and has a USB-C port through which it can charge my laptop. And the ergonomics are great. I resisted getting a monitor for a while, but I've now resigned myself to the reality that it will make me more productive while working from home, especially on Zoom calls.

I decided to revamp my vinyl setup. Just bought a Pro-Ject RPM-5. It's so sick :D

I'm amazed you were able to purchase one. Every time I've tried to buy something from Dell directly, outlet or otherwise, they get cancelled. PayPal, credit card, doesn't matter.

Anyway, this isn't a "purchase" per-se, but I've paid off all outstanding debts that weren't related to my house, car, or credit cards, the latter of which never have a balance on them month-to-month.

Odd. I couldn't get the outlet website to load in Edge, but it worked fine in Chrome. It hasn't shipped yet, so I guess it could still get canceled. I paid with my Dell Financial Services credit.

Protip: chat with a rep before purchasing and they'll give you an additional 2% off.

I've bought and returned enough laptops over the last 6 months to where I'm gonna be taking a break for a while. I grabbed the refreshed 2020 HP Omen i7/RTX 2060 when it was $1,249 at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. Despite some build quality niggles, it's been performing really well. With tweaking, I'm getting a bit more than 6 hours of battery life with idle temps in the low 30s.
