True, though it seems like there's always some new thing in audio that no one can possibly live without. I swear my neighbor buys new high end speakers yearly.

I mean, maybe. He must have good insulation, because I never hear it from outside.

A whole bucket of legos. I have a feeling the bottoms of my feet are going to regret this.

Nothing quite like stepping on a sharpened lego in the middle of the night to start your day.

My most vivid memory of visiting the UK is of the power plugs. They're just the right shape to lie with the pins pointing up - so much worse than Lego to step on. The flat backs give them good stability as they try to tear your heel apart. Earthed French plugs are almost as bad but their backs are slightly rounded, meaning they're less likely to lie with the pins upwards.

Talking of audio, a work colleague recently spent circa $500 on audiophile speaker cable. They were keen to demonstrate the sound difference but based on the six listeners, none of us could notice a difference to the general, high-quality cable that sells for 10% of the price.

Last purchase? an EMMC card for my Odroid C2 that runs Kodi. Have had appalling luck with the last two SD cards (Admittedly not the most expensive cards) and will gladly pay extra to not have to reinstall Andoid, re-root and then set Kodi up again.
