This quote can apply to any purchase we make that isn't shelter, food, drink, or basic clothing ;)

And ancient weapons are awesome. Uncle has a claymore and I have a bow.

The one I had for 20 years somehow got lost in my last move. It may still exist, but I couldn't live without it, so I invested in a new one. It can slice watermelon well. :p

    Why of course!

Exactly. Some things are just fun to collect, look cool, and in severe cases can bludgeon an intruder.

    Netgear Nighthawk R8500 AC5300 router.

SUPER nice router. Flashing DD-WRT right now.

Storage is a strange thing... One day I needed a new 3TB drive for my main desktop, and the next I ended up with that... plus 20Tb of HD's and 750GB SSD's in a little HP Server. And then 2x3TB Reds + 240GB SSD in a Thecus W2000+. And a 6TB Red + 5TB Seagate in a TS-231+. Plus the remaining drives in the desktop and boot ssds fpr everything.

Indeed it is. For me it's going the other way where I had 36TB in 2 NAS and now I'm down to 24TB with 12TB of usable space. At one point the TS-470 was connected directly to the ESXI white box with 10Gbe private network and a TS-451 acted as a backup. It was getting too complicated for the house so I started simplifying things a little.

Really? I found no reason to flash DD-WRT on my Asus router.
