You are serious about your coffee. Are you using Peet's espresso beans? Must say, spending $300 for a grinder would be difficult for me but if it give you real espresso satisfaction for the rest of your life, why not. Maybe I missed it, what espresso machine did or are you getting?

I'll continue to enjoy Peet's in the French press, but I've learned a LOT recently about brewing espresso, more than I could have imagined, and evidently, good crema (along with consistent 25-30 sec pulls) all but require beans roasted within 10-14 days of grinding for use. TBH, with the cash that I have spent on espresso at cafe's, the machine and the grinder will pay for themselves in less than a year. No good indie cafe's around here, and SBUX has become intolerable.

I was originally looking at a Breville espresso machine with a built in grinder, until I discovered that when looking for a home set-up, one should really spend half the budget on the grinder alone. That's just the way it is with espresso. The Breville had a built in grinder which is not ideal in quality. I ended up opting for the Ascaso grinder, and a Gaggia Classic machine.

Number 2 heating oil in my area was $2.10 last week. I got all I could hold in my 200 gallon tank! (188.5 gallons) :p

Actually, I went the entire month of January, without needing a fill up. Man, it's been a warm winter around here. :D

I didn't know that people kept huge oil tanks at their homes for heating oil. Always thought that it was just piped through, like water or natural gas.

Haven't bought a lottery ticket in many years, but something about $485M sounded quite attractive to me while in the store earlier.
