Dude, you cannot get more 80's entry level sports car than a Quattro.

Except maybe a Delta Integrale, which is basically a Quattro that shrunk a tiny bit in the wash.

...The AE86 is like the mech keyboard.

Stuff that we actually thought sucked (or just plain ignored) in the 80's which you kids (and some old weirdos) now think is the greatest thing in the world due to some misplaced sense of nostalgia.

80's Corolla was used in rally and practically invented touge driving/drifting. Kenichi Tsuchiya popularized drift with an AE86 Trueno Corolla, and to this day is his favorite car (he has a custom tuned one too).

Yeah OK, so it was a cheap and easily modded rear-wheel-drive car which started out quite crap, but could be made less crap.

That car was SO much fun to drive, even in street-legal guise...loved it.

    You are excused.

(Many cars rallied to boost their credentials. Doesn't necessarily mean they were actually good on the road as is)

(Of course, doing this on a production 80's Skoda would have caused it to resemble a yet-to-be-assembled piece of IKEA furniture)

(I bet kk1 has a tear of nostalgia in his eye... oh wait, there are still plenty of them around)

By that token, I'm sure there's someone even more predictably deluded than AE86philes slobbering over a Skoda Rapid that hasn't yet fallen apart somewhere...
