    Car:

Mclaren P1 GTR converted to be road legal - I will probably never spend as much in my life as this car is worth...

    Laptop:

Maybe the Acer Predator 21X just to see how good that screen really is - again I'd probably never buy it as the price tag is INSANE for a last gen quad-core processor

    Shoes/Trainers:

Nike Vapourmax - probably will buy these lol as I've heard they are more comfy than ultra boosts

Goldenear's Triton 7. I don't get them because they look like a pair of $1400 cat scratching posts.

The Triton Seven's look good, with the jump up to the powered sub version with the Triton 3+ is also looking good, have you had a chance to listen to them?

    Golden Ear Triton 3+ Review

The Golden Ear Triton Series are growing on me. The visual's remind me of the early generation Vandersteen's...

GoldenEar Triton Seven Tower Speakers Review

This review pulls down the sock so we can see the build / radiators, and like the Vandersteen's these passive sub designs need a powered sub for a lot of content, so that Triton 3+ would be a nice starting point if you don't have a sub already:

What else do you like in the tower speaker range now? I used to have Infinity, Mirage M1's, neither in business but still servicing warranty, and it looks like KEF has these series:

    KEF R900 Floorstanding Loudspeaker

Klipsch is another sound I like, this is the start of a nice home theater bundle:

Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker Pair with RC-64 III Center Channel Speaker
    https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Floorstanding-Speaker-Center-Channel/dp/B0787FPBJL

B&W would be other choices I can think of...

Any other brands / models in the $1000-2000/pair range - up to $5000/pr I should be looking at?

    No.

I don't run a sub as it is now because I rent with all included so I don't want to use extra power, plus I don't want to blow a fuse. I'm old fashion [think that staying 2.0 is in some way being a purist of sorts] and more of a budget-audiophile. So I look for speakers that run deep down.

I'm currently using a Onkyo NR676 [upgrade from Denon AVR-1707] with a pair of Polk S20 [39Hz-40kHz] bookshelf speakers.

I bought a new Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 for $100 [25wpc] just because it was $100. It's still in the box. I'm going to use a Pioneer GR-777 10-band digital EQ and an AV switch box. I still need speakers and CD player ...and something to put these things on.

    It's still available: https://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-Audio-Stereo-Integrated-Amplifier/dp/B078H7ZP8T

For speakers, I'm leaning towards either the ELAC B6.2 or the Wharfedale 225.

Quad has a lot of new speakers out. The S-2 bookshelf [$1k/pr] and S-4 floorstander [$1800/pr] look like the bang for buck items:

    https://www.crutchfield.com/g_12000/Floor-standing-Speakers.html?tp=185#&nvpair=FFBrand|Quad

I don't look at much past the $1k point. Some things under $1k stand out as really good for the money.

I was considering a $300 pair the DefTech C/L/R 2002 [30Hz-30kHz] for the Topaz AM5, but they need more power than that can give.

This amp/Focal speaker package is a good deal: https://www.accessories4less.com/ma...mp-elite-speaker-cable/1.html#!specifications
