    Hi All,

I could really use some help please. Budget isn't a major concern as I have held onto my XMG dual 1080 hairdryer for so long. It is so big, heavy and loud.

I am looking to buy this month unless something special is coming soon.

    Some important considerations please:
    - portability
    - not too loud and being able to game with fans a medium is a bonus
    - HDMI 2.1 is a must as I have high refresh LG OLEDs that I want to connect with for gaming.

    ==========

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget?
Flexible... Approx to £3k or $4.5k... flexible

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
    Travelling with it.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? (If so, please state which games or types of games?)
Yes, latest titles including the new upcoming Battlefield.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
The more the better. At least 2 to 3 hours.

Yes a little. Prefer more professional look.

    Notebook Components

If you can find a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro it should meet your needs. The 5800H / RTX 3070 is pretty good balanced for price / performance. I would get aftermarket memory and SSD to improve performance and meet your storage needs.

Bought the Blade 14. So compact and seems like good quality.

Having set it up last night the screen seems small cos dieting I have been using a 17" laptop and and 43" monitor. I hope I will get used to it.

Probably the weakest option performance-wise, but in truth all laptops involve some compromise. Enjoy!

I went for the 3080 version so I hope it will be able to play the new Battlefield when it comes out.

It's so compact and portable. That has to come at a price I guess

Yes, it's particularly compact, hence the extra price tag. What's the TGP on that 3080? 100W?

You could get a reasonably compact 15 incher packing a 115W or even the full 165W GPU.

    I know, I hope I don't regret the purchase.

The xmg Neo 15 had the 16gb 3080 and the full 165w but it is considerably bigger.

I have a powerful desktop and a huge high refresh LG oled display to go with it.

Portability is crucial for me, I just hope I didn't go somportsbk3 I won't be able to enjoy the upcoming Battlefield.

I hear you. BTW you also had a couple light Alienware options: x15, m15 R5 (Ryzen) or m15 R6 (Intel 11th gen) . Nm now.
