my current computer: purchased feb 2015 for $1702
    Sager NP8278-S (Clevo P170SM-A)
    i7-4810mq cpu
    16gb memory (2 8gb sticks)
    128ssd
    1tb hd
    nvidia 970m 6gb gddr5

I'm in a bit of a pickle, i was about to pull the trigger and buy the Sager NP8977 (Clevo P970RF) but I noticed it has the 2070 max-q and that it is a watered down version of the 2070.

The only thing I change while customizing the laptops is: 16gb ram to 16gb dual channel (2 x 8gb sticks) add 1tb 2.5" HD and then add IC diamond thermal compound

With my current config of the Sager NP8977 (Clevo P970RF) on xoticpc the total amount is: $1724 (but its the 2070 max-q video card) would be about the same price as current computer

The more expensive one with the 2070 GPU Sager NP8377 (Clevo PB71RF-G) on xoticpc the total amount is: $1924 which is $200 more than my current setup

Or I can cheap out and get the 2060 card with the Sager NP7876 (clevo NH70RDQ) for $1429

I use the computer for open world games, FPS, MMORPG, Adventure, RTS, Fighting games, Emulators and sports games.

Please help me decide which one.

Emulators love CPU and GPU grunt so far that along I would look for something to proof yourself on that front alone

I tried the 1060 and while it was a huge improvement over my old OC 780m, I kept finding myself wanting the 1070, or the 2070 in your case.

How long you intend to keep the machine? The difference between what you have and what you are looking for is that the components are permanent. No potential upgrades.
