Photo and video editing laptop for around 1000$

    Hi all,
    Tried to find an answer on other posts, but the focus seems to be more gaming oriented and the budget higher than what I'm looking for.
    Should I wait for black friday? Is it relevant at all?
    I'm fairly competent with computers and whould prefer somthing that can be upgraded down the line.

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget?
    1000$ but I can stretch it a bit.

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen


    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.
    USA,
    HK is also an option if considerably cheaper.

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    NO (Vizio is one, but I don't suppose it will come up as an option (-:)


    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
    Yes

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
    Office, photoshop and lightroom, simple video editing on Resolve.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    Both.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?

    No

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

    I usually have an outlet available, but 3-4 Hours would be nice.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

    Don't need to see it.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

    Small ssd and 1t hdd
    2 or more storage bays (one can be msata etc).

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?
