    Hi,

I’m considering buying a PC Specialist gaming laptop – specifically the Defiance III with GTX 1060. One of my main concerns is heat, both of the internal components and of the surface of the keyboard. Does anyone have any experience of these laptops (ideally the Defiance III) or general comments on whether they are a good alternative to, for example, Alienware? Obviously PC Specialist are cheaper but it would be good to know from people who have a PC Specialist laptop.

    That's a Clevo P650RP6.

    I own a Clevo P650RS (1070 version).

I like it a lot, the lid is the weakest point I would say as it has a decent amount of flex. Cooling is great, and the chassis is very well built. I got the 4K display which is awesome, but be warned the 1080p one has a lot of lightbleed a decent amount of the time.

I think it's a really awesome machine. The lid thing doesn't bother me at all, and they keyboard stays mostly cool under load. It gets a little warm but the vents do a good job.

Alienware is built better, but really pricey. Also cooling is very eh this gen on it.

I don't have a 1080p screen so I don't know how the lightbleed is, but I wouldn't trade my laptop for much. Maybe if someone gave me an Aorus X5 for the same price, but even then I hate the eagle on that things trackpad haha.

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply Galm. Very tempted by the Clevo, especially with all the heat issues Alienware laptops always seem to have (my current dated m14x being a good example). Will have to look into the lightbleed though.

I'd recommend the higher res display. 1620p I believe from them? IIRC

I like scaling though, so depends on preference in that regard.
