I wish I was that easily amused. Then there would be a lot better options for 'jump in' games.

It's a video game, not wine tasting or neurosurgery! So long as it's fun, I don't really care if it's at 30fps or 60 fps, 720p or 1080p. I don't know what "antialiasing" even means and I don't find that this "ignorance," or whatever some might call it, impairs my enjoyment of games. Guess that makes me a peasant ;)

    For some it actually is.
Not that it is always necessary, but we all have different tastes.

I take my PC gaming seriously. I miss having the time for more of it. I was single for 5 years, then I built my desktop, and a month later "the one that got away" came back and now I have no time for anything computery.

I can find time for gaming, but it's often non-continuous time. Yet I find a lot of games where you can just jump in to be not very entertaining. Which is very much why I'm seriously looking at installing my own GRID servers. I've registered interest in joining a couple of outfits who use GRID, and I'm going to see how it works in a hosted context. If it's viable then I'm put my own GRID servers in my private cloud. This should allow me to game at places with reasonable Internet links without having a gaming rig in place. One of the issues I guess is sync between the GRID cloud and my own local Surround rig that I'd sit down to game 'properly' - I'm sure I can rig something up, but whether it'll be transparent is another story entirely.
