man , your job really depends on the reliability reliability of your equipment ... from primers to lithium batteries .
i would make that machine as bullet-proof as is practical ... cheap investment .
if the '74 is impractical to *upgrade* , perhaps investing in another machine is in order .

the '31 has the same sized screen area , a faster processor and has a very bright led back light ...
the bright back light is important in your neck of the woods ... say serving warrants around ozona :D:p:rolleyes:
you could upgrade from a hdd to a ssd and have a very fast bachine .
as has been alluded to , hdds are going or have gone the way of high button shoes and ddt .

a year ago the price of a '31 was much more than now .
not meaning to plug any particular person or model , but a few of the guys here do have machines for sale ...
and they are rebuilt/refurbished properly .
many of those ebay chaps don't know the difference between texas bbq and arkansas bbq when it comes to these machines ...
they think that spraying a little pledge and a wipe with a rag constitutes "refurbished" .

how is your vehicle set up comp wise ?

I have a few diffrent setups for vehicles depending who im working with and the location, do u have one of those laptops u are talking about? Or know where i could get one? what about price? i paid a very cheap price for this one so i wouldn't mind at least getting it running correctly as a back up but anything better im interested in for sure, let me know

i don't have any spares ... i just put a '30 together for a pilot friend of mine (downgrade from a '31) ... it has ccfl back lighting and the led type is much better .
virtually all manufacturers have gone to led back lighting.

as i say , i do not wish to hawk any one member's equipment ... that is against the TOS here ... and personal honor .
i am certain that one or more of the fellows here will pop a flare .

(i have served eviction papers on a pregnant gal ... not a glamorous job at times)

in the upper right corner , there is "inbox" and "alerts" ...
there should be a red number flag indicating a message or two .
hover on the "inbox" and a dropdown will happen .
    click in the link .
