What about the MSI's? They are odd shaped, and seem to fit in the picture, but I would like confirmation before I can make a decision

Single card needs minor heatsink work with the old bigger 980DT heatsink

SLI: technically they don't fit as the slots are too close together for the wing+tab on the MSIs, but the OP here just sat the slave card on top overlapping the master (with some electrical insulation just to be safe) and it seemed to work. The heat pipes could be bent to accommodate the slight angle.

Longevity from bending the pcb (since the spring loaded mounts around the core would be forcing a slight bend) would be the only concern I think

Drivers and 1.013V crash maybe, if you somehow manage to get borked rev 02S 1st run 1070 SLI MSIs.

Would I need the 980DT heatsink for sli?

980dt heatsink prevents the use of SLI as it occupies both fan/rad areas.

You want the separate master and slave 980M heatsinks, three pipes and one rad each, see the pics at the start of this thread

I can do that, thanks for you help. Aside from modifying drivers, is there anything else I should know?

That typically SLI is game dependant. Just be aware if it's going to help with the extra investment or if a single 1070 with the large heatsink might be your best bet.

Thanks, but the games I play usually have great scaling or can run off of an iGPU

I just managed to get my hands on a clevo P870dm-g. Concindentally my gtx 1070 mxm decided to die at the same time too.

So my question is to @TheDantee I remember you posted a taobao link on some thread which had the gtx 1070 with sli connector shown. I was going to purchase two of those cards until I deleted the damn link from my bookmark page. Spent hours trying to find it on taobao but it doesn't help when everything is in Chinese.

If possible can you please link that gtx 1070 mxm card here.

My 1070 also died recently.... Best is to check eBay for the model with the SLI Connector on it as its easier... I do have the link here - https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?sp...F6DtQB&id=542762161520&ns=1&abbucket=1#detail
