The P870dm-g can support a 8700k. My future laptop setup will hopefully have the 8700k, 2 gtx 1080's (msi edition, use two eurocom tornado f5 heatsinks, solder heatpipes together) in sli if possible, 32gb ddr4 ram, 2tb ssd, a 4k screen and finally the 780w adapter.

That would be a true 'desktop' replacement as it would give my ryzen setup a run for its money. Plus the clevo is portable, a bonus point for me. I won't need anything better for years to come.

The eurocom laptop is simply being used as a uni laptop for me. It doesn't need to be spectacular performance wise which is why I bought an i5 8600k anyway.

I was thinking of buying a P870TM Heatsink for the extra heat pipe to use in my P870DM-G do let me know how the Tornado F5 Heatsinks work though... Also there are 2 MSI 1080 Models one with the Core on the upper portion of the card and one near the bottom you will have to make custom heatsinks for it to cool in the P870DM-G kinda not to mention its a little wider than the MSI 1070 so you might not be able to fit 2.

Not sure if the TM heatsink will fit without modification. I believe @Mr. Fox was considering that for his DMG. I'm waiting for the 1100 series before I upgrade my DMG: either I'll get a more powerful GPU or I'll get a cheaper 1070 as supply increases from people upgrading.

It will not fit without modifications in the DM3 and the fans are totally different in the DM-G, so expect even more work to try to make it fit. One of the mods required to use the TM1 heat sink for the DM-G, DM3 or KM1 is that you have to shorten the stand-off posts for the CPU heat sink screws. Otherwise, the heat sink won't even come close to touching the CPU IHS. And, you have to cut a notch out in the back of the metal motherboard support frame. I'm sure @bloodhawk or @Prema can explain, as both have the TM1 heat sink in a DM3.

At moment neither spoke of "it" is allowed, because you've not invested time or money and you are not involved in project anyway
