    Thank you, i have just looked and Obsidian are actually slightly cheaper than ClevoCenter!

    The phenomenal reviews of Obsidian PC make it a clear choice.

    @John@OBSIDIAN-PC

    Do you know if there are any active promo codes on the Obsidian Site?

    EDIT: I decided the price was already reasonable enough so didint want to push for a discount!

    We don't really have any discount campaign going on.

    As for the BIOS our is unlocked with custom logos and a bunch of tuned default values.

    If you are ordering through a UK company and the laptop is for company usage, then you can claim the 20% tax back from HMRC if you purchase from PCSpecialist - you just complete your company tax return!

    If you order from any company in the EU and you have a UK VAT number and registered company, you don't pay their local tax. All our non-German B2B customers pay zero tax as per EU tax rules. You still have to declare this purchase in your tax return though.

    If you buy from outside the EU, you will be charged 20% UK VAT by HMRC at the point that the shipment enters the UK as you already understand, this is usually managed by the shipping company if you purchase from a reliable company). And technically you only offset the VAT that you pay to customs on the import against the VAT you charge for your products or services when you sell them - if this works for you running a UK VAT registered business whilst a student then no problem ;-)

    All in all, as you're ordering as a VAT registered company, the only difference it makes to the price you pay is WHEN you pay the tax - so you should factor in other important features, for example warranty, easy of warranty repair and location (including shipping and time), spec and features (like BIOS if you need that control for work purposes), customer support (location and quality) and so on. You can often judge companies based on if they automatically offer massive discounts (either means they have inflated prices at the start, or they are desparate to sell); support and reliability is well covered in the Reseller Feedback Forum. Are you getting the mainland EU minimum 24 month parts warranty, or lower default US and UK warranty - plus if itsays 2 or 3 year warranty is that on the parts or only labour?

    Also you'll find that lots of companies have different departments for B2B and B2C customers. For example, I only look after business customers and they can't order thorugh our website (one reason being is to stop fraudulent zero rated tax purchases without manual checking on our side) - but that's generally not a problem as our B2B customers rarely order just one laptop and so talking to one of our staff is generally the first step in building their orders up for them.

    Prema, I just purchased my 2nd Clevo based laptop. This time from XoticPC as it's listed as one of your partners. I contacted them about getting your Bios but they responded that they no longer supply the "Prema" bios.

    On my last laptop build, I purchased the Bios from you directly, Do you still do this?

    Cheers.
