Go through more carefully. You were using it and shut it down normally? Or did it crash? Does it behave the same on battery and AC? What lights come on when you plug the AC cord in?

Is the light on the brick coming on? Does it go out when plugging it in?

Take the battery out, press and hold the power button for a second or two. Leave the machine for 30 seconds and plug the AC back in leaving the battery out. Any change?

Then something in the machine is fried and it needs a professional to look at it.

Could have been a surge while it was off.
