Just curious if anyone has gotten El Capitan up and running on these machines. I was able to get Mavericks going awhile back but no 980M acceleration killed it for me. From my understanding the nVidia alternate drivers support 980M now so it shouldn't be an issue but if I'm going to nuke my Windows 10 install and put OS X on, I want to make sure it's going to work. Just kind of sick of Windows to be honest...

I just run Linux in a VM which I can do with VMware in Windows or Parallels on OS X. OS X on the other hand doesn't work well in VMs while both Windows and Linux performance is excellent in Parallels.

Ahh, makes sense then. I figured that you needed that Unixerino.

Plus my roommate is having me build him a new machine but he's decided he wants it to have OS X on it so I'm wanting to see how much of a pain it is to setup and maintain these days but without a DVI monitor I can't put it on my desktop because as soon as I install the alternate drivers to make my 780 Ti work, the HDMI goes dead until I switch it in the graphics settings. I suppose I could always just enable on board graphics though on my 4790K. I just have a lot more on the desktop to risk than I do the laptop.
