Any idea if or when the msi 1060 mxm will be around again. I can see they are available at silly prices from canada. Getting them in europe is a real struggle however. I've no problem with hardmods or software. Just trying to find the availability is the problem for me.

There is nothing you can do, the dedicated GPU has no outputs wired direct to it and therefore it will never run VR or drive any panel directly.

:( Apparently, the limits to upgrading these models have been reached.

Not a bad run considering the chassis started off on the 4xx series.

There actually is an eDP port routed off of the mxm slot in EM systems for the very very dedicated. It's present on the motherboard for the canceled P170EM3 system. Lots of mods are required to make it functional.

I wrote a summary of what was done on TI but never really wrote a guide.

    https://www.techinferno.com/index.p...3-hardware-mod-p150em-dgpu-direct-output-wip/

I planned on doing that when I got my 3k screen working, but when I got the screen the edp was wired in reverse. That complicated things.

I wrote some details on how to do the mod throughout this thread starting near the bottom of the first page.

Wow, that goes beyond my skill level. Perhaps it will help the OP, though.
If I'm ever in upstate NY I may contact you to see if you can help me mod my system XD.
