I didn’t notice anything fancy in the bios. I don’t recall what’s in there either as far as the specifics mentioned by Mr. Fox.

I’d happily check but a family member bought the laptop from me yesterday while they were in town.

    Very unexpected.

That is a pretty incredible deal. Even has a two-year warranty. Good luck to any other company selling gaming laptops …
Walmart also has the Overpowered 17+ for $999 with similar specifications, but a 17.3-inch display, and it doubles the RAM to 32GB of RAM and the hard drive space to 2TB.

Yes indeed. Seagate HDD or SSHD with 2TB and 32GB of SK Hynix or Hyundai RAM is a steal at 999$.
Damn they should release the same laptop with same pricing in India too.

This is what I've been talking about when mentioning how ridiculous prices of mid-range laptops have become... with poor cooling execution (or design implementation) by 'major' brands.
Alienware, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, Gigabyte, Razer, Acer and others should take a queue and learn something from this.

When an unknown company makes a cheaper and far better implementation of same hardware for practically HALF the price, major OEM's should take note... otherwise, people WILL eventually take notice and not bother.

If I hadn't gotten such a good deal on my Razer Blade, I would have probably grabbed one of these. It's too bad Thunderbolt 3 isn't available. I'd have happily paid another $200 or so to have the option of adding an eGPU down the road.

Wow if these are refreshed with 2060 at same price point next year...

Hoping these bring down prices for everyone else from AW, Razer, MSI, etc.

    I wouldn’t count on it.

I have a hunch these are sold at this price to recover from their Desktop OP branded variant shenanigans.

Agree, I also think it was a fire sale to just sell out the remaining stock (and probably get out of the laptop business).
