Has anyone bought this laptop? We need to get a thread going for this model.

Correct, but the model is the exact same. This model is sold by Origin PC, HIDEvolution, Falcon Northwest, Eluktronics, Xotic PC, Eurocom, Sager, LPC Digital, and AVADirect in the US. There may be more resellers here, but I don't know of any others than the ones I listed.

The thread I linked to is a discussion related to this model, regardless of vendor.

Aside from the Origin logo on the lid, there is nothing different about the laptop compared to the other brands mentioned. They all buy the chassis from the same company (Clevo), then re-brand it and provide support.

This is not correct, I'm having extreme issues using clevo bios. The part number on the motherboard is different then clevo or others. That's why I started a thread for the origin variant

You may have a slightly different motherboard revision, but the basic hardware is the same. Ask whatever questions you have in the thread that @Clamibot posted - you're much more likely to get a response there.

In the past, Origin models did differ enough on some level that things like Dsanke just wouldn't work on them versus other OEMs. Corsair now owns Origin and they may have the size and pull to request slight variations to their config.

But with that being said, as @saturnotaku alluded to @Clamibot 's posting, you would be better served and get more responses posting in the Clevo thread as it has a large mix of different reseller models in there and responses.

Yeah I'd avoid them if you intend to flash custom firmware.
