This is a reason I will only buy top brand devices. I will pay for quality.
I've owned my One Plus One for several years now and it's been a reliable experience with a solid build quality for me. I haven't had the opportunity to try the OP5, but it's received glowing impressions and this shouldn't deter buyers. Both Apple and Samsung have suffered similar if not worse incidents like this.
The difference is how apple and Samsung take care of issues compared to one plus. From what I understand, they are saying it's normal and not fixing them. Where as if I have ANY issue with either my Samsung or apple phones, I get a replacement right away.
Good luck talking to Samsung/Apple service with "ANY" issue remotely similar to this one, which is neither a manufacturing flaw nor a hardware quality problem.
Well....my son dropped his iPhone 6s and shattered the screen, called apple, and a new one was on its way that same day...FREE OF CHARGE. No apple care or anything. I was expecting to send his back, and pay for a screen (which I was fine with), but they said, ship the broken on back, postage on them. SOOOOOO no problems talking to apple thanks! samesong, I'm not sure of!
You could get a replacement from Apple because the SPECIFIC phone your son used was damaged, while other ones boxed in Apple warehouses are not. This thread is about the upside down screen in OP5, which is a design choice. Every single OP5 in existence is built the same way. What kind of replacement do you expect from OP? Give the OP5 back and get free access to their next model one year later?
If you brought a OP5 before being exposed to this design, you either live with it or return the phone, which doesn't need an extra issue to justify. What special treatment can/should OP customer service provide on this model?
If I had a 1+5 that had the jellyscreen, I would demand a replacement. SIMPLE...I have no idea what you are saying.
There's no replacement for you. Every OP5 has the same issue whether reported or not. It's a design choice that's impossible change at this time, not a manufacturing defect. You don't like it? You can return it unconditionally within 15 days. You can't blame OP customer support for not giving you another OP5 when it makes no difference.
So the new +5s have the same issue with upside down screens? again...another reason I only buy "the big guys stuff for more money." you can bet your bottom dollar that if this happened to an iPhone or Samsung phone, they would be fixed...the new stock that would be shipped would be fixed...and the owners with the issue will be taken care of with a swap of the affected device. SIMPLE.
I would never buy a product from a company that does not stand behind said product....LIKE 1+ by the sounds of it....they are basically saying screw the customer, we are just selling these devices as is....knowing there is an issue with them. That don't fly with me. It should not fly with anyone.
