i have centrino duo core t2400 on my e1505, but when i look in task manager i see it monitoring only 1 core, and notebook hardware control is also showing me one core....I have not noticed any slowness or anything like that. is there some setting i have to change in bios? when i checked in bios it says that dual core is present...

Are you absolutely your computer has a duo core? Maybe it has the Solo even though you ordered, or *though* you ordered the Duo. Contact the manufactorer.

I am 100% sure that it is a dual core cpu...in BIOS it shows that dual core is present, and in device manager it shows two t2400 cpus under processors...I have XP Home btw...does that ake a difference?

well im sure xp home doesnt have smp, but i've used both xp home and xp pro on this one and so far the only difference in performance i've noticed is that the task manager has both cpus on the display lol, so i dont think it matters to much :)

ok so what you are telling me is that xp home will not show both cores in task manager? does this mean that dual core is not being utilized with xp home? you are right about performance though, cuz I also have an hp laptop with same processor running xp pro, and I notice no performance difference
