OMG we can have 6 or 8GB in macbook pro

    Crap, that's an insane amount of ram! I thought 4 gigs was enough :D

    I doubt its necessity :p. At least for now, definitely there isn't a real need for anything above 4 GB of RAM.

    If you're really up for it, you can get 32 GB of RAM on the Mac Pro desktop :D.

    well... i just didnt know we can do that
    hehe im using 2GB and i am doing fine with it.
    i might upgrade to 8gb if 4gbx2 is umm say $180. I will run Ubuntu in vmware all the time :)

    Wow, that's awesome.

    I don't know why but I often exceed my 4GB and end up with a 2GB swap file... sometimes because of memory leaks. Sometimes because I run 3 Eclipse instances, VMWare @ 1GB, Photoshop, and iPhoto as well as the usual apps that are always open like Mail, Safari, etc.

    Hmmm... I just notice that the "why do I need 8GB of RAM"-rationalization-process has set in... ;)

    it doesn't really look like it has been officially declared to work properly, but it looks like it could be that way.

    I could seriously use 8gb of ram if this is actually going to work properly, photoshop, maya, after effects, etc. are ram hungry monsters.

    oh yeh, like we've all got an extra 10k just lying around the house. Im sleeping in 100bills right now ;)
