Hello. I have an old G50VT-x5 gaming laptop that I picked up about a decade ago while I was in college. I've never bothered to buy a new laptop after that since I either have a work laptop through my employer, or just use my iPhone.

Recently I decided I wanted to start designing houses using a program called Chief Architect X8. The G50vt-x5 in stock form running the old P7450 processor and 4gb of ddrt2 seems to run it decently, but the 3D portion of the program can get a little laggy.

Wondering if it would be worthwhile to upgrade the processor with a cheap x9100? Install an SSD?

Would this thing be able to run the newer version (x12) of Chief Architect (system requirements below)?
