Anyone has successfully upgrade the wifi card to AC 7265?
I have a problem after I change the wifi card to AC 7265, the bluetooth doesn't work and I saw device manager cannot recognize the bluetooth

Delete the device in device manager.
    Restart your computer.
    Install the intel driver again.

I purchased Intel 8260GW which is newer than 7265.
Install the intel driver. Works fine. :)

Is the reception any better than with 7260 by any chance?

Relatively new owner chiming in here.

<3 my SVP11 so much! Mine has a cracked keyboard (looks impossible to replace) and I just did a full cleaning and repaste (idles now at mid/upper 40c something rather than mid 50s) and upgraded the wireless from 7260N to 8260AC! I'm also undervolting the crap out of everything to eke out as much thermal performance and battery life as possible!

This thread has taught me that the SSD slot is not pci-e like it's bigger brother unfortunately, but that's good because I was about to buy one :p

My touchpad is also quite dirty, and it's awesome that someone on ebay is selling them, but I'm not quite sure how I'd go about replacing it...

    Cheers!

    Hello again,

Just wanted to report that I swapped out my 128Gb SSD for an m.2 Samsung EVO 850 250Gb model. Works perfectly! And opening the case was really easy too...

Also, now that OpenBSD -CURRENT supports UEFI boot, I'm dualbooting that with Ubuntu 16.04 nightly. I've written a couple of blog posts on how to install with a fully encrypted partition: https://bsdlaptops.wordpress.com/ . Works really nicely apart from non-existent Bluetooth support in OpenBSD.

    Hello,
I own a SVP13 and I'd like to change the SSD upgrade as well.
Could you let me know how you do have performed the cloning process of you SSD to transfert all stock software ?
I'd like to be sure that I have vaio control center and FN+Shortcut will still working (for brightness especially).

Hope you'll be able to help me in this case :)

    Many thanks

    Hello,

I have tried to install the 8260 card in my VP13 but it's not recognized at all by windows ...
Have you met this issue when you do have installed it ?

    Many thanks

Could you tell some more about this easy opening of the PRO11 case, please. I have removed rubber feet and some screws, but I could not find a way to separate the halfs. Maybe you can show a URL to find instructions for this?
