The new Sony VAIO VPC-Z2 (VAIO Z Mid-2011 - 2nd Gen Intel Core i5/i7 CPU - SandyBridge) series has been announced. :D With some fellow members here already having just placed their orders for one, I thought we can start a dedicated thread for this brand new series. :)

Hopefully, you guys don't mind that I have the honor of creating this thread. :p

More info on this series from the Sony USA web site:

VAIO Z Series Laptops | Sony Store USA

Fellow member cherrybombaz has got a very helpful & useful post on Useful Guides/Resources. The link to that post is as follows:

If anyone wants me to add anything else to this opening post, please kindly send me a PM with the details & I'll be very happy & willing to do so. A big thanks in advance.

Congrats to all VAIO VPC-Z2 series notebook owners & enjoy your new purchase. :)

Just compared two configs on the German and Dutch Sony site.105,99 euro more expensive on the Dutch site

    My order

    Premium Carbon

    Intel® CoreTM i7-2620M 2,70GHz
    Legitieme Windows® 7 Home Premium
    Engels (QWERTY international)
128 GB SATA Gen3 Flash SSD
    8 GB 1333MHz DDR3-SDRAM
    Geen Power Media Dock
    33,2 cm LCD, 1600x900 + camera
    Draadloos WAN
    Beveiligingsfuncties
    Standaardbatterij
    Toetsenbord met backlight
    Office 2010 Starter
    Geen bescherming
    Zonder Adobe® Creation
    Zonder Adobe® Lightroom 3
    Geen Imagination Studio Suite
    Tevens meegeleverd
    1 AC-adapter
    Draadloos LAN (802.11a/b/g/n)
    Bluetooth® 2.1
    Intel® HD Graphics 3000

    Dutch VPCZ21C5E 2.194,99 €
    German VPCZ21C5E 2.089,00 €

It's more expensive for less then Kaltmond's config which is the same but includes a Full HD screen and the large battery.

Base configuration WITH PMD will be $1999 USD, according to beaups. Those prices are wrong. They are just placeholder pages.
