    Glad you fixed yours! I must try this now, where can I get the Sony drivers from March? I'm not seeing the older versions.

    the one on their site for my sa390s was from march 31/2011...The only one on there

    Hmm, I am only seeing version 14.1.1.3 from 8/18/2011. I'm on the Sony eSupport website for your model VPCSA390S, and for my VPCSA31FX.

    ^^ Yeah, Sony normally only lists the most recent, and the launch drivers/software. In terms of BIOS, they only list the most recent. Why some models are behind others, I don't really know :(

    I already did that, i.e., create a second partition and play around with a clean Windows there. Unfortunately, I don't have any luck with the Vaio Smart Connect software yet. Oh well, maybe somebody has better luck than me and share some info in this forum.

    3). How do I know if my HDD is misplaced or missing the soft thing?

    I wouldn't worry about the HDD. My silver SA has the same behavior where the HDD produces slight vibrations on the left palmrest. It should be expected considering the thin body and as a result, increased contact of the surface with the HDD.
